World Map

Hello Lovelies!

It’s the first day of August, which means we are one step closer to my favorite season, Fall!

As part of the rewriting and editing process, I’ve been working on some new projects. For one of these projects, I created an official map of the world that the story takes place in. I never created a “world” map before, and it was really fun project! At a future date, I’ll post the world map on Patreon.

I’ve also been writing backstories for three central characters. Two of these characters you have already met, and the third you’ll meet either in chapter three or four. Any guesses who these three characters might be? 😉

This month has five Tuesdays, so you will get and extra page uploaded at the end of the month. The next update will be Tuesday, August 15th.

Hugs,

We Now Has an Editor!

Hi Lovelies!

I’d like to share that this comic now has an official proofreader/editor! So, what does this mean? Well, including today’s upload, all future pages will be proofread by a pro before they’re posted. Also, I’m aware that there are punctuation mistakes in previous pages, and there are probably additional mistakes I’m not even aware of. Next month, the editor will look over these pages, and I will use his feedback to make necessary corrections. I will then replace any “flawed” pages with the proofread versions.

Another reason, I decided to start working with a proofreader/editor, is because I’m in the middle of completely reworking the story beyond chapter two. I’m very happy with how the story is progressing, but it’s still very helpful to have someone to give feedback. I want to make this comic the best it can be, and I think working with an editor will help make that happen.

As always, thank your for reading! And if you like this comic, please support it by becoming a Patron.

Sincerely,

Tieback

Personalities Revealed

Hi Lovelies!

I’d like to wish a happy 4th of July to all U.S. readers. I hope you have a wonderful holiday, and please play safe with all the sparkles 😉

As promised here are the Myers Briggs results for Lark, Jaxon (Pageboy), Count Wylie (Noble), and the mysterious pale girl. I’m curious to hear what you think!

On a different note, I’m currently searching for a webcomic editor. I think working with one could be very helpful with the creative process. And hopefully, it also will elevate the overall quality of the comic. It might be a few weeks before I find an editor, but I wanted to give you a heads up just the same.

I would be very grateful for any pledge support you could provide, as editors can be costly. Current Patreon pledges sit at $19 a month. As soon as pledges reach $30, this will become a weekly updating comic.

The next update will be in two weeks on Tuesday, July 18th.

Hugs!

Myers Briggs

Hello Lovelies,

This page is your bonus upload for the month. I hope you enjoy it! Personally, I just love how these two characters banter. 😉

Recently, a friend recommend I take a personality test called Myers Briggs (MB). At its worst, I treat personality tests as form of entertainment. At its best, I treat them as a self-reflection tool. And I say tool, because a tool can only be as accurate as the person who uses it. It’s not easy to look at one’s self with informed, yet unbiased eyes. So, for fun, I took it. My result was INFJ, and the description seemed pretty accurate. However, it wasn’t my results that peaked my interest, rather, it was the possible sixteen different personality types that drew me in. As a webcomic artist, I’m always on the lookout to improve my craft. And when I come across something that might be useful, I study it.

Character creation and development are two of my favorite study topics, and after taking MB, I wondered which personality each of my characters would get if they took the test. While researching, I was happy to find that I wasn’t the only one interested in using MB to categorize fictional characters. If you do an online search, you’ll find that everyone from the Golden Girls to Harry Potter characters has been sorted (pun intended). While trying to categorizing my own characters, I was forced to ask questions about them that I hadn’t before, and this created a need to further develop their backstories. I’m pleased to say that this exercise was very helpful in progressing my characters’ development.

The characters I’ve categorized include: Lark, Jaxon (The Pageboy), Count Wylie (The Noble), and the mysterious pale girl. If anyone wants to take a stab and guess the MB personality of each character, I’d love to hear it in the comments. I’ll reveal the results next update, which will be Tuesday, July 4th. All $2+ Patreons will have access to the answers four days sooner on Friday, June 30th.

Till next time!

Happy Pride!

Hello Rainbow Lovelies,

I’d like to wish all rainbow lovelies out there a Happy Pride. Although I haven’t heavily promoted this comic as LGBT+, it is. The reason I chose not to strongly advertised this, is because I want readers to see my characters as just people. I don’t want any of my character’s sexual identity/orientation/etc to become their defining characteristic, because they are more then that. Just as all of you, are also more then the sum of your parts.

Stay beautiful and proud.

Rainbow Hugs!

One Year Anniversary

One Year Anniversary

Hello Lovelies!

Tomorrow is an exciting day! May 31st marks the one year anniversary of The Archer and the Squirrel! I’m so happy to reach this milestone. Thank you to everyone who reads and supports this comic. You mean the world to me!

When I started this webcomic, I was uploading a new page every other Tuesday; an updating schedule I still run by. However, it was my goal to switch to weekly updates by the comic’s one year anniversary. But then life happened, and I got an unexpected, yet very welcomed, promotion at work. Due to this promotion, I had to “go back to school” so I could acquire some certifications. And this new responsibility resulted in the need to push back my weekly updating goal.

Although I’m still studying for certifications, I had an idea. I’d like to propose a challenge to both myself and all who read this comic. Currently on Patreon, I have a monthly goal set at $30.00. Reaching this goal would cover the recurring expenses for creating and publishing this comic. So far, there are six patrons pledging $14 a month. If you guys can help me reach or surpass my $30 a month goal, I will switch to weekly updates.

For those of you who accept this challenge, you will get additional perks as a Patron. There are two pledge levels and each comes with unique perks, such as: early access to new pages, exclusive access to character design sheets and behind the scenes sketches. As soon as the $30.00 goal is reached, weekly updates will start immediately. And weekly updates will continue as long as pledges stay at $30 or more.

Enjoy this months bonus upload. The next update will be this coming Tuesday, June 6th.

An Artist’s Craft

Hello Lovelies!

Fun fact, two different versions of page 35 were made. After finishing version one, it just felt… wrong. I tried brainstorming some alternatives, and decided to remake the page and take the story in a different direction. This “slight” change resulted in 6 future pages being reworked and two completely new pages being added. Oh, the sacrifices one makes for one’s craft…

Worth it!

If you are curious to see what the first version of this page looked like, you can check it out here.

Your bonus third month upload will be Tuesday, May 30th.

Become the Beast

Hello Lovelies 🙂

This month has five Tuesdays, so you know what that means! You get an extra page uploaded at the end of the month!

While making this page, I came across a song entitled “Become the Beast”. It’s a beautifully haunting song sung by Karliene. Because I like sharing random inspirational things, I’ve included the music video bellow. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Till next time. Hugs!

Next update will be Tuesday, May 16th.
